Gyros in the oven


Wash the turkey breast, cut it into small pieces and put it in a bag or bowl. Mix the spices with 4 tablespoons of olive oil and pour over the pieces of meat. Mix them so that each piece of turkey befriends the marinade and leave it in the fridge for 2-3 hours.

Meanwhile, prepare the vegetables: cut the potatoes into slices, cabbage as for the salad, and the peppers into strips.

Finely chop the onion and garlic, cook them in a tablespoon of olive oil for only 1-2 minutes, then add the pieces of meat that you leave until they turn white.

Remove all the ingredients from the wok, leaving the sauce, add a little more oil if necessary and cook the potatoes for a few minutes, until golden brown. Grease a bowl with 1 tablespoon of oil that we will use in the oven and put the potatoes on the bottom row and on top of the chicken. Saute the cabbage for a few minutes, just until it softens a little and put it over the meat, and then the peppers.

Put a tablespoon of oil in the wok again, add flour, mix and quench quickly with the glass of milk and chicken soup. Let it boil for about 5 minutes, until it thickens a little, add a little salt and pepper, and then pour over the amalgam of ingredients in the bowl.

Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 35-40 minutes. About 15 minutes before removing from the oven, sprinkle diced feta cheese on top.

Gyros - Greek Meat Spice and Marinade

Gyros condiment:
Put the onion flakes / chopped onion in a mortar and add the sea salt.
Start crushing the mixture until it crumbles well.

What ingredients do you need:

For the tzatziki yogurt sauce:

  • about 500 grams of Greek yogurt
  • 1 cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 1 & frac12 teaspoon of dried dill
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice & acircie
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

For marinating chicken:

  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • the juice from a lemon
  • 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

For gyros:

  • 500 grams of skinless and boneless chicken breast, cut into thin slices
  • 6 pieces of pita, round
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 sliced ​​tomato
  • 1 chopped onion
  • & frac12 finely chopped lettuce

Method of preparation:

  1. Start by preparing the cool and fresh tzatziki sauce. Blend all the ingredients: cucumber, yogurt, dill, garlic, vinegar, lemon juice, salt and pepper. After you get a creamy, velvety composition, put it in the fridge.
  2. Mix the four cloves of garlic, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, olive oil and oregano in a large ceramic bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Ingredient: 250 g thawed and cleaned shrimp, a tablespoon of olive oil, 4 cloves of garlic, a large tomato, 4 green onions, half a cup of dry or semi-dry white wine, a teaspoon of Tabasco sauce, a teaspoon of oregano, a quarter cup of fresh mint and basil, salt, pepper, a cup of crushed feta, a handful of parsley.
