Squares with oatmeal

I saw this form of bread at the store and I really liked it.

  • 400 grams of flour type 55,
  • 150 grams of oatmeal,
  • 25 grams of yeast,
  • 200 ml milk,
  • 100-150 ml of water (depending on the flour),
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil,
  • an egg,
  • salt.

RECIPE PREPARATION Squares with oatmeal:

I made the dough with the bread machine, first I put the liquids and the yeast and then the flour and the oatmeal and the salt.

After leavening, I spread a sheet of about 3 cm and cut with a well-sharpened square knife with a side of 4-5 cm.

I brushed them with milk and sprinkled some flour, others plain sesame or black sesame and left them to rise for another 25 minutes.

I baked them in the preheated oven at 210 degrees for 30 minutes.

They came out very tasty and fluffy and keep well from one day to the next.


Oatmeal recipes for a healthy breakfast

Oatmeal with jam and yogurt

Ingredient: oatmeal, 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons orange jam.

Prepare oatmeal according to the instructions on the package. Add the yogurt and jam.

Oatmeal with peanut butter and grapes

Ingredient: oatmeal, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, 1/2 cup red grapes.

Prepare oatmeal according to the instructions on the package. Mix with peanut butter, then add the grapes.

Oatmeal with dried fruit and pistachios

Ingredient: oatmeal, nutmeg, 1 tablespoon dried cherries, 1 tablespoon dried currants, 1 tablespoon pistachios, 1 tablespoon honey.

Prepare oatmeal according to the instructions on the package. Add the nutmeg and the rest of the ingredients. Sprinkle honey at the end.


Oatmeal and chocolate cake

  • I really liked making this cake, for two reasons: it happened to be so close that I could photograph it with one of the tulips I received as a gift from my children, from a beautiful bouquet of white tulips, and the guy this dough was a challenge for the first time for me. I'll explain why: this kind of cake on the tray is one of the crispest. As such, the dough is crumbly, which is pressed into the tray and requires a little more skill and patience to spread. I will tell you at length what weapons I "fought" with him. :)

Melt the butter in a bain-marie, then beat it with the sugar until it looks like a light cream. Add eggs, vanilla essence. Mix flour, oatmeal, baking soda, salt and add everything over the rest of the composition.

From here begins the difficulty with handling the dough, the mixer will not cope so you will have to knead a little. The dough is sticky, it's good to move quickly with it. Once homogenized, divide it in two. Put baking paper in the tray and half of the dough you start to press it well. I used a spatula in the most inaccessible corners of a round table knife to beat the dough as well as possible. By pressing and stretching movements, you will end them, believe me :).

For the second sheet, I recommend that you draw the border of the tray on a baking sheet and repeat the operation with spreading the dough in this perimeter.

As for the cream, in a larger pot or a smaller pot, combine the chocolate flakes, Schogetten chocolate, condensed milk, a tablespoon of butter. Leave on low heat and stir until the chocolate melts. Then pour the composition over the sheet of dough in the tray then, using the baking paper, turn over the second sheet of dough.


Oatmeal with bananas, almonds and cinnamon

Ingredients for oatmeal with bananas, almonds and cinnamon:

2 bananas
30 grams of almond flakes
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2-3 tablespoons of honey
160 grams of oatmeal
600 milliliters of water / milk
1 pinch of salt

4 steps to prepare oatmeal with bananas, almonds and cinnamon:

1. Peel a squash, grate it and slice it.

2. Put the almonds in a pan over medium heat, without oil, and leave for 3-4 minutes, until lightly golden. Stir occasionally.

3. The oatmeal is prepared as in the simple oatmeal recipe, and when we take it off the heat, add the cinnamon and honey and mix.

4. Serve with banana slices and fried almonds on top, as well as a little honey over.
