Easy Recipes: 3 CBD Superfood Smoothies

What’s not to love about breakfast smoothies? They’re packed with nutrients, taste great, and are less taxing on the body to digest than a typical meal—and the extra energy goes to you! Smoothies are a super-healthy way to start the day!

But your typical breakfast smoothie can be even better… Just add CBD’s homeostasis-promoting, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidant qualities and you have a natural therapeutic powerhouse in a cup!

By adding premium Canadian CBD oil to your smoothies, you can calculate your dose more precisely, as most brands sell bottles with measured droppers for more accurate dosing. It’s also possible to use CBD isolate powder in lieu of CBD oil, as isolate powder blends into smoothies readily. CBD isolate can have a bitter flavour, and is highly concentrated, so be careful not to use too much! Use a scale to make sure you are adding the dose that works best for you.

Here, then, a CBD smoothie recipe (times three!) to start your day off right!

Superfood Berry Smoothie

This one packs a solid plant-based protein punch thanks to a combination of hemp seeds, Greek yogurt and avocado. Plenty of healthy fats and antioxidants in this recipe too! Berries are known for their anti-oxidant might and help skin look younger. Anti-oxidants slow the degradation of cells, giving your body more time to replenish itself with new ones. The more healthy you are within, the more healthy you look without!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain)
  • 1 small avocado
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries
  • ½ cup frozen raspberries
  • ½ cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1ml dropper-full CBD oil
  • 1 -2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey

Throw your banana, yogurt, avocado, berries and almond milk to blender. Blend until smooth. Sweeten it up with a little maple syrup or honey. Add your CBD oil and, for added crunch, hemp seeds and/or walnuts. Blend for an additional 10 to 15 seconds. Serve and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 cup spinach
  • ½ cup full-fat coconut milk
  • ¼ cup almond milk
  • 1 dropper-full CBD oil
  • 2-3 ice cubes (optional)
  • ½ ripe banana
  • 2 tablespoons cacao
  • Small handful of almonds
  • Small handful of cashews

Blend your spinach, kale, cashews, coconut milk, banana, almonds, and almond milk, plus optional ice cubes until smooth. Add cacao and CBD oil, blend for 10-15 more seconds. Bottoms up!

Tropical CBD Superfood Smoothie

Feeling some nostalgia for the tropics? This CBD smoothie recipe offers tastes of paradise, plus boat-loads of vitamins and carotenoids. These vital anti-oxidants increase the absorption of nutrients into the bloodstream. Additionally, many tropical fruits possess powerful antimicrobial, anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups kale or spinach
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen papaya
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain)
  • ¼ cup frozen pineapple
  • ½ frozen banana
  • ¼ cup frozen mango
  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 dropper-full CBD oil

Blend fruit, greens, yogurt and coconut mild until smooth. Add CBD oil, and any sweeteners or crunch to blender. Blend additional 10-15 seconds. Voila!

That’s it! You’ve got the recipes, now get crackin’! Time to start the day with a superfood-powered boost of health!

How to add CBD

CBD comes in many forms, but the most convenient way to create a smoothie is Central Business District Øthey with CBD isolate. CBD oil is usually packaged in a dropper, so you only need to drop it on the other smoothie ingredients and the texture will still blend well. On the other hand, if you want to add powder instead of oil to your smoothie, you can study CBD isolates, because they are composed of 99% or higher CBD, so the degree of separation is much stronger. Think of it as similar to mixed protein powder, which is already a popular ingredient in fruit juices.

Before starting to make a CBD smoothie, dosage is an important consideration. We will not issue a specific amount because the specific amount varies from person to person. According to experience, do not exceed 50 mg of CBD in smoothies. The 20 mg dose is very low at the beginning, if you need a higher dose, you can gradually increase the 20 mg dose.

CBD oil and powder are usually marked in milligrams on the packaging. For oil, a single drop is about 0.05 ml, so you can calculate from it how many drops will produce a certain amount of CBD.

Soothe Your Pain With This Mango CBD Oil Smoothie

This could be the delicious anti-inflammatory treat you've been looking for.

Cannabis and Pain

For more than 20 percent of Americans, chronic pain is part of daily life. Many aren't getting the relief they need.

Pain treatments have been typically limited to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and opioid medications, which carry the risk of addiction. Both have risks of side effects. With opioids frequently in the headlines, many people with chronic pain can't get access to the medication they depend on to get through the day without intense pain.

As a possible alternative to long-term opioid use for chronic pain, many people are turning to cannabis. Cannabis has a long history of medical use and is especially effective in the treatment of pain.

Cannabidiol (CBD) has gained mainstream attention for its effectiveness in treating a number of conditions including pain, both acute and chronic.

Combining CBD and THC

In states where medical marijuana is legal, a combination of CBD and THC can be used for pain to great effect, and is more potent than when CBD is used alone. The complementary nature of the compounds is known as the entourage effect.

Best 3 Recommended CBD Oils

If medical marijuana isn't available legally in your state, you might still be able to find relief from chronic or acute pain by using hemp-derived CBD.

CBD extracts are available in multiple forms, but the most popular is an oil base. CBD oils can be mixed into many different recipes for ingestion or added to lotions, massage oils, or balms at different concentrations to match your need.

Below are CBD oils recommended by Green Flower Media and CannaInsider:

CBD Mango Smoothie Recipe for Pain Relief

Author and cannabis advocate Sandra Hinchcliffe shares a favorite smoothie recipe from her forthcoming book "CBD Every Day."

CBD oil is mixed with mango and orange juice for a refreshing drink to ease your aches and pains.

Research has shown that mango can heighten the effects of cannabinoids because they share a compound called myrcene which is a terpene found in both cannabis and mango.

The result? A more effective, longer-lasting experience.

Citrus fruits also contain a large quantity of antioxidants, giving them anti-inflammatory properties. That makes this smoothie the perfect vehicle for your pain-relieving CBD oil dose.

Sandra's Mango Canna-Booster Smoothie

Serves: 2 smoothies (8 oz each)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh-squeezed blood orange juice, room temperature (you can substitute any fresh-squeezed orange juice)
  • ⅓ cup fresh coconut milk
  • Preferred or specific dose of CBD oil
  • 2 large or 3 medium mangoes, sliced and partially frozen
  • ½ cup ice
  1. To a blender, add the orange juice, coconut milk, and CBD oil. Blend until creamy.
  2. Add the frozen mango and ice into the blender. Blend until icy and creamy.
  3. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Even if marijuana is legal in your state, it continues to be illegal under federal law. While there are some claims that CBD derived from hemp (rather than a cannabis plant) is legal in all 50 states, other reports point out legality isn't so straightforward. We suggest checking your state's laws regarding CBD oil.

Quick Note about Vanilla on AIP

One of the gray area ingredients for the AIP diet is vanilla. While vanilla beans are ok for most people, store-bought vanilla extract typically contains alcohol as well as other ingredients. The general advice is that if you’re cooking (i.e. heating) the vanilla extract, then you’ll be burning off most of the alcohol so it shouldn’t be a problem. However, if you’re using vanilla extract in a recipe that isn’t heated, then you should use alcohol-free vanilla extract instead. Since that’s hard to find, we suggest either omitting the vanilla, using a tiny bit of the seeds scraped from the inside of a vanilla pod or else try this pure vanilla powder.

If you’re concerned about reacting to vanilla in any way, then for these AIP smoothie recipes, you can omit vanilla when it’s called for in the recipe. It will change the flavor though.

CBD pancakes and mango smoothies – easy to make cannabis recipes

This weekend will bring some of the same routine people have been following for the last two months: a lot of time at home. It doesn’t have to be a dreadful experience when there are things to do, especially cooking. These two recipes – for cannabidiol (CBD)-infused pancakes and mango smoothies – can keep you busy and relax over the weekend.

-5 t Baking powder
-5 C of Flour
-3 T Melted cannabutter
– 1 Egg
-1 T White Sugar
-25 C Milk
-CBD Oil (to taste)

Pour the flour in a dry bowl along with the baking powder and create a shallow dent in the middle. Then pour in the milk, sugar and egg in that middle section. Start whisking actively until you reach a smooth, creamy texture. Once this step is done, add the CBD oil and stir well. Use a non-stick pan and grease it with cannabutter, then cook the mixture in the same way regular pancakes are done. The best tip to cook a successful pancake is to heat the pan with high temperature and then take it to mid-low temperature so that no pancakes will be burnt or stuck to the pan.

-Mango (2 C of peeled and chopped)
-Banana (1 piece chopped)
-Milk (1/2 C)
-Yogurt (1/2 C)
-CBD Oil

Put the chopped banana and mangoes into a blender, add half a cup of milk and half a cup of yogurt. In the blender, add the CBD oil and stir together until it has a creamy texture. Finish it by throwing some ice in the blender for the final smoothie consistency.
