Meringue sheet: Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt, then add the sugar and mix until it melts, add the teaspoon of vinegar. When finished, mix the ground walnuts with the almonds and add them to the meringue. Wallpaper a tray with baking paper, spread the meringue and put it in the preheated oven, over low heat, let the oven open to dry slowly. I leave it for about 1 and 1/2 hours.

In a bowl, grind the leftovers. Separately in a saucepan put cocoa, sugar and water, bring to a boil two, three times, remove from heat, add butter and stir to melt. Pour the obtained mixture over the leftovers and mix well. We grind half of the meringue sheet and incorporate it into the composition. Let cool.

Melt the chocolate and coat some small silicone forms in the chocolate, put the forms in the freezer, leave them in the freezer for 15 minutes, then take them out of the freezer, lightly remove them from the silicone forms. We fill the chocolate forms with the above composition, sprinkle the crushed meringue on top. From the rest of the composition we form some balls that we roll through the crushed meringue, the other sheet of meringue left.

Fried rice with baked pork

Baked pork steak is also one of the dishes on the Christmas table, but it is rarely eaten whole, as it is served with many other goodies, such as stuffed eggs, eggplant salad, beef salad or stuffed cabbage.

If you have leftover pork cooked in the oven after Christmas, don't rush to throw it away, because you can use it in a quick and tasty fried rice recipe.

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 200 g of pork steak (one chop / one neck)
  • ¼ cup of finely chopped carrot
  • ¼ cup of chopped broccoli
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup boiled rice
  • 1 beaten egg
  • ¼ cup of frozen peas
  • 1 ½ tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon of ginger powder.

Method of preparation:

  1. Melt the butter in a non-stick pan, then put the chopped pork, carrot, broccoli, peas and green onions in the pan and cook over medium heat for at least 7-10 minutes. Then put everything in the pan in a large plate.
  2. Put the pan back on the heat, then fry the beaten egg, stirring well. After the egg is cooked, put the pork mixture in the pan again, then add the rice, soy sauce, garlic powder, but also the ginger powder and cook for another 10 minutes. At the end, divide the dish into 2 plates and serve.

Statistics show that Romanians throw six thousand tons of food in the trash every day.

'' Food waste means manufactured products that have not reached their destination and purpose. If it were up to me, I would put one hundred percent peels, onion peels, peels of anything (.) I wanted to show them that you can work with other foods and take out extraordinary dishes '', says Robert Mârza, event organizer .

EU statistics show that Romania ranks 9th in terms of food waste. Every year, every Romanian citizen throws away about 192 kilograms of food, ie 2.2 million tons of food throughout the country.

Don't throw away the food! & # 8222Recycle it & # 8221 Asian style: Fried rice from leftovers

& # 8222Resturi & # 8221 is not the most beautiful plural in Romanian and, although it means the same thing, & # 8222leftovers & # 8221 in English sounds like a million times better. Either way, beautiful or ugly, in English or Romanian, the rest of the food means the same thing: something left over from a hearty meal, most of the time.

That's what we did yesterday. Because I was too hot and too lazy to cook (I usually prepare food for one meal, at most two, as Laurenţiu immediately gets bored of the same dish) and, it seems, my sister was in same condition, I ordered sushi. In fact, nighiri, tempura vegetables and two chicken dishes, which, it seems, were a little too much for the three of us, because we woke up, at the end of the meal, lying on chairs, with our bellies full, that we had no chance to eat everything. Nighiri devoured it immediately, but not the same thing happened with some of the vegetables, rice and a few pieces of chicken, which I put in a pile in one of the pots.

It's not bad to have leftovers. Especially when you squeeze your minds and manage to do something with them, turning them into something delicious, but it's serious (I say) when I throw the leftovers in the fridge and forget about them. This has happened to me far too many times, and because I hate throwing away food when there are children in this world starving, I try as much as possible to & # 8222 recycle & # 8221 the leftovers that end up in the cold box.

The easiest way to give new life to the food of the previous day is either by preparing a vegetable stew with the meat left over from a grill, for example, or by combining everything into a pasta dish, omelets or rice.

In this case, fried rice was the natural choice. Not only because there was some good rice in the casserole in the fridge, but also because the tempura and chicken vegetables were oversaturated with soy sauce, so I had to give our food an Asian taste.

Along with a few pieces of pepper that made their way through the fridge, about three cobs of boiled corn that, aged and a little hard, remained uneaten and would surely have ended up in the garbage, with a large whole onion and a little freshly boiled rice, Laurenţiu (and I) have something to eat today. Plus the food came out WONDERFUL!

8 ways to use the cake left over from Easter

Cake leftovers can be used to "repair" certain cakes or pies. How can we do that? It's very simple: with a mixture similar to cake pops you can fill holes or unsightly cracks in cakes and pies, to make them more uniform. This mixture can be stored in the refrigerator (2-3 weeks) or freezer (3-6 months) and can be used whenever you need.

What do sausages contain? What are sausages made of?

What do sausages contain? The human body is fragile and works on the basis of energy, produced by the foods we eat. As a result, the healthier the food we eat, the healthier the human body is. If you have a lot of leftovers and countertop edges, you have several solutions. One of them would be to form some round cakes, given by decorative candies, coconut, cocoa or anything else you want. I assure you that you will not be sorry that you did not throw away the countertops.

First of all, chop the pieces of the countertop. Then make a syrup boiling the following 5 minutes:
150 g butter
150 ml of milk
50 g cocoa
100 g chocolate
300 g sugar

Over the chopped countertop we add:
200 g crushed biscuits with cream
100 g raisins

Let the syrup cool a bit, so that we don't burn our hands and start mixing, gradually pouring the syrup, so that we obtain a suitable consistency, so that we can form balls.
We form balls, we put them through the decoration candies and then we leave them to cool.
Maybe you remember that as a child you ate something like that, I think these are the ancestors of cake-pops. :)

500 g potatoes,
200 g leftover steak (chicken or pork),
100 g breadcrumbs,
2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley,
100 g race parmesan,
salt, pepper, oil,

Boil the potatoes whole and in their skins.

Remove, cool under running hot water, clean and strain, form a thick puree.

Chop the steak as small as possible.

Mix the breadcrumbs with the grated Parmesan cheese.

The pieces of steak are mixed with puree, salt, pepper and parsley. Form balls about the size of a walnut, pass through the mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese and place in a bowl with hot oil.

Fry for 5 minutes on each side. Remove and place on absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
