Peasant potatoes (fasting)

Peasant potatoes (fasting)

Boil the potatoes with their skins until the fork enters them lightly, but do not crumble through the pot, then drain the water from them and let them cool.

We peel them and cut them into cubes (or put them on a large grater). Peel the tomatoes and cut them into small pieces.

Peel an onion and finely chop it, then put it with the oil in a saucepan to brown, and when it starts to turn brown, add the tomatoes and 100 ml of water. Let it simmer until the water drops, then add the paprika (to taste), salt , pepper, mix and add the boiled potatoes.

We turn them lightly with a wooden spoon, the sauce colors them all, then we put them aside and add the chopped parsley.

I'm really good.

Peasant potatoes - recipe

Peeled potatoes have many more benefits than peeled potatoes or french fries. They are not healthier than baked potatoes, but they are just as tasty.

Ingredients

• 1 kg of potatoes
• 1-3 onions
• 2 teaspoons of paprika or paprika
• 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 2-3 tablespoons of oil

Preparation

Wash the potatoes well in water, and put them to boil with the peel in a large pot. When they have softened well and the fork penetrates easily into their flesh, they are ready.

Drain the water, rinse with cold water, and after they have cooled a little, peel them. Cut them into small cubes.

Finely chop the onion and grease it with a little oil in a saucepan or cauldron. (You can use red or green onions, or a combination of several colors, for a more diverse flavor).

When it has softened and turned golden, add salt and cumin and mix. Add the diced potatoes and finally the paprika. Mix carefully so as not to crush them. Leave it for another minute, then pull the pot off the heat.

They are very good warm, but they also go cold. They can be served with bread or polenta, yogurt or cream, cabbage salad, donuts or peppers in vinegar, or as a garnish for a steak when not fasting.

Post pizza

Ingredient:

  • For the fasting pizza counter:
  • 300 g flour
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 sachet of dry yeast
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • For fasting pizza filling:
  • sailor sauce
  • vegetables of your choice: corn, onions, peppers, tomatoes, olives, mushrooms
  • tofu cheese
  • Oregano.

Method of preparation:

Mix the flour and salt with the oil and sugar. Dilute the dry yeast with a little warm water and place it over the flour. Knead everything well until you get a homogeneous dough, then sprinkle a little flour on top of the pizza dough and leave it to rise in a bowl covered with a clean kitchen towel. When it has risen enough, roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut as desired.

The sauce is extremely important for the success of the final taste. So it is preferable not to put ketchup or broth on fasting pizza. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add the finely chopped tomatoes, salt, oregano, pepper, hot pepper powder and mix well. Put the basil sprig on the surface of the sauce and push it with the spoon inside. Be careful not to cut / chop it, because you will remove it at the end. When the sauce boils slightly, reduce the heat to medium to low and leave it like this for another 10-15 minutes, to thicken. Remove the basil twig and season again, if you feel the need.

For the filling you can use absolutely any vegetable you like and have around the house, not just the ones listed above. Without fear, it can't help but be tasty! Spread the top and put the sauce on top. Put the desired vegetables over. You can either put the tofu cheese on the grater or put it in slices / cubes. It doesn't taste the same as regular cheese, of course, but its flavor helps with the final flavor of the fasting pizza recipe.

Next you can read the written recipe or see step by step video recipe:

The potatoes are cleaned and washed, if they are small, they are left whole, if they are bigger, they are cut in 2, in 4 and placed in the tray.

Add the tomato juice and oil, crushed garlic, spices, water and oil and put the tray in the oven. It is good to cover the tray with aluminum foil or a lid for the first 20 minutes, then remove and let it brown.

After 10 minutes, sprinkle the potatoes with the sauce from the oven once more and let them cook. After 30 minutes, prick it with a fork, I'm sure I'm ready.

Remove the tray, sprinkle with chopped greens (I prefer dill) and then eat with gusto, along with a seasonal salad. & # 128578
