This is pure comfort food! Serve with gravy, mashed potato and veg. It's also very cheap to make too. Great for a family.

- 1/2oz butter
- 1lb pork sausages
- 4oz flour
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 300ml milk
MethodPrep:10min ›Cook:40min ›Extra time:10min resting › Ready in:1hr
- To make the batter, sift the flour and salt into a bowl.
- Beat in the egg and gradually add enough milk to form a stiff batter. Set aside for 10 mins. Add the remaining milk, stirring constantly.
- Melt the butter in an ovenproof dish and add the sausages. Put them back into the oven for 10 mins, or until evenly browned.
- Pour over the batter and then bake for 30 minutes or until the batter is golden brown and has risen.

Was scrummy but, as I've not done this before, I had to check another recipe as to what temperature to use. I did it on 200c-25 Feb 2013
